Eric Butterfield, Senior Writer/Copywriter and Editor
Eric is a writer and editor specializing in human behavior, computer technology, and consumer electronics. He’s been a member of the AlterAction team since 2010, crafting messages and materials for clients such as ACH Payments, UPS, and US EPA’s ENERGY STAR Program.
Prior to joining AlterAction, he was senior associate editor at PC World magazine, where he wrote about software, digital cameras, printers, and many other topics. He penned a column for the website called the Human Element, which focused on user behavior and technology. Previously, he worked at ZDNet as the editor in charge of enterprise security and networking coverage. He has been writing about technology for various publications for 20 years.
Eric holds a B.A. in English Literature from San Diego State University.
If he’s not composing copy, Eric is likely composing music. An accomplished songwriter, guitarist, and drummer, Eric’s songs have appeared on roughly three dozen TV shows, including NBC’s “Last Call with Carson Daly,” MTV’s “Teen Mom,” “True Life,” and “16 & Pregnant”, Bravo’s “Flipping Out”, and Discovery Channel’s “Auction Kings.”
